These stuffed applerolls are a variation of french toast. The apple filling is spiced like Apple strudel, a typical austrian dessert. For preparation, both brioche or toast bread can be used. This recipe is very easy and suitable for children or cooking beginners.

Preparing the apple pieces
Wash the apples, peel, quarter and cut into small pieces. Mix them with sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
Pressing flat the pastry
Press flat the pastry slices and flatten them using a rolling pin.
Filling with apples
Cover up one third of the pastry with apple filling and roll it tightly.
Covering the applerolls
Beat the egg, add sugar, vanilla sugar and whipped cream. Stir gently.
Deep-frying in butter
Heat the butter in a pan, place the rolls with the seam down into the fat and let bake slowly all around until they gain a golden-brown panade.
Draining and adding sugar
Remove the pastry from the grease. Let it drain a piece of kitchen roll. Finish with a sprinkling of dust sugar and cinnamon.
