The Pattison looks like an UFO, so sometimes it can be found as "UFO squash" in grocery stores. It can be hollowed out and stuffed sweet or spicy. The peel of the young ones is so soft that the pumpkin needs not to be peeled. In this recipe, the hollowed out pumpkin is filled with a minced meat filling and roasted in the oven.

Removing the top
Wash the squash. Remove the upper part wirt a sharp knife.
Hollowing out the pumpkin
Remove the kernels and the flesh using a spoon.
Preparing the filling
Peel and chop the onion finely. Chop the pumpkin-flesh with a knife. Mix the minced meat, the onion, the herbs, the steamed rice and the pumpkin-flesh. Season the mixture with salt, pepper and chili powder.
Stuffing the pumpkin
Preheat the oven to 180 °. Stuff the button squash with the meat filling. Put the cap back on again and press the pieces together.
Frying the pumpkin
Put the pumpkin in a frying pan and pour over some water or some soup. Put it in the oven. During the cooking process, it is necessary to pour it over and over again with it's own gravy.
